EReg / EUCARIS Colleagues Receive Belgian Royal Honour

On 28 June 2011 Mr Hans van der Bruggen, former Deputy Director at RDW (The Netherlands), Chairman of EReg and EUCARIS, has been awarded on behalf of King Albert II of the Kingdom of Belgium. He has received de honour of Officer of the Order of Leopold II. The same day Ms Idske Dijkstra, Senior Advisor at RDW (The Netherlands) and Operational Manager and Secretary of EUCARIS and Mr Herman Grooters, Senior IT Advisor at RDW (The Netherlands) and Project Manager of EUCARIS, received an award as well. They both have been honoured as Knight of the Order of the Crown.

 

These royal honours have been awarded for their fruitful contributions to the European cooperation in the field of exchange of Vehicle Registration Data within the framework of police cooperation under the Prüm Council Decisions, especially during the Belgium EU Presidency.

 

In his word of thanks Mr Van der Bruggen emphasized that the success of the information exchange by EUCARIS has only been possible due to the cooperation between the colleagues in the different Member States. The honour is in fact a compliment to all colleagues and participants of EUCARIS.
