3rd Directive on Driving Licences

European Union has issued driving licence directives, the aim being a common transport policy in order to improve road safety and to facilitate t he movement of persons moving from one Member State to another by introducing a Community model driving licence that is mutually recognised by all Member States without any obligation to exchange.

The focus of the work of the EReg Topic Group VII. was on the intended implementation of the 3rd Directive. The Topic Group defined the most important articles of the Directive, identified interpretations, difficulties and possible common problems and finally developed recommendations in order to facilitate implementation of the Directive in various Member States.
